A deeper look at the SkillBit Mission

Our mission is to help cybersecurity individuals and teams to quantify and develop capabilities through hands-on, measurable skill development, all at their own schedule.

SkillBit believes cybersecurity capabilities are measurable and the best way to quantify skills is to take daily workflows and break them down into individual tasks. By delivering training via bite-sized tasks, cybersecurity professionals are finally able to work training into their schedule consistently.

Daily or weekly bite-sized training activity is what leads to continuous, compounding development. It also gives managers an ongoing “pulse” of their team’s capabilities.
The 20-Minute Rule
Training That Fits Your Work Day
Cybersecurity professionals are busy. They respond to incidents, manage tools, and handle constant pressure. They don’t consistently have time for multi-day trainings or full day simulations.

That’s why we stand by the 20 minute rule: any user should be able to log on to our platform and make meaningful progress within 20 minutes. The SkillBit platform was designed for the modern security professional; our training fits real schedules.

Our Culture is Creative

Passionate About the Mission

SkillBit was built by people who genuinely care about cybersecurity. From our roots in CTF competitions to the training we build today, our team is driven by a shared passion for helping professionals in this field.

Trusted, Open, and Collaborative

We operate in a culture of trust. It’s an environment where people communicate directly, collaborate naturally, and focus on doing great work together.

Thoughtful and Intentional

We’re a close-knit team working on meaningful problems in a highly technical space. Because we’re small, everyone has a voice and can make a real impact.

I think [SkillBit Labs] is a great platform because it gives you an overview of the different areas [in Cybersecurity]. You can filter [challenges] by the topics you like most.

The thing that I like about the CTF-style problems [in SkillBit Labs] is you'll think that you know what to do and so you'll try something and it doesn't work, and that leads you to research something else. Even if it's a completely wrong rabbit hole, you're still going to learn that thing really well.

The thing we liked about [SkillBit Labs] was that there was a lot of variety there. There was a lot of different skills and it was really engaging.

You can treat [SkillBit Labs] like a school project and that’s all it’s going to be. Or you can also treat it like an opportunity for something else and that’s exactly what it’ll be.
